Student Accomplishments
May was a busy month for the studio! On May 7, nine students – Shania Jin, Andreas Schaefer, Hailey Wiltse, Thien Sa and Sam Luyen, Katie Ocampo, Meijke Balay-Mickelson, Maggie Liu and Andrew Tang – participated in the Temecula Valley Music Teachers Association Spring Festival; everyone received Superior rating and was awarded a double gold medal at the Honors Recital on May 21, held at the Grace Presbyterian Church. On May 14, Thien Sa, Sam, Sophie, Meijke, Jaden Oh and Maggie Liu played at the Music Teachers Association of California Student Recital at the Temecula Public Library. On May 15, Alexa Willis, Olivia Melton, Maggie Liu, Meijke Balay-Mickelson and Aubrey Mitschang performed for the National Piano Guild Auditions – all received a minimum of 20 Commendations (Superior rating)! 17 more students will participate in this nationwide event in July, and I look forward to more outstanding results!

You have such great things going on in your studio. I thank you so much for giving me so many ideas! I haven’t decided whether I will go to the MTNA conference next year yet, but I hope to meet you in person at some point for sure!
