Summer Lessons (July – August)

All lessons have resumed THIS WEEK (as stated in the June newsletter)! If you have forgotten to come to your lesson, you may reschedule this time, since it is our first week back. If you will be away for vacation, please notify the studio. Lessons during your vacation will not be charged. Scheduling can be more flexible during July and August since there is no school and there are more available time slots. Normal cancelation policy applies; if you need to reschedule due to conflicts, please let me know before the day of your lesson. Lessons canceled on the day of the lesson will be charged.

Fall Semester 2010

It is recommended that students who are at intermediate levels and above register for 45-min or one-hour weekly lessons. This is necessary for longer and more difficult repertoire, as well as preparation (music theory, technical skills, ear test, improvisation, transposition, sight reading) for many audition and festival events. Apart from the National Piano Guild Auditions in June, there are many other worthwhile opportunities available to our students, including:

California Certificate of Merit – run by Music Teachers Association of California – March/April

CAPMT Piano Auditions – run by California Association of Professional Music Teachers – November

Studio Scholarship

To recognize hardwork and excellence, students who score highly in National Piano Guild Auditions may qualify for Studio Scholarship. The value of the scholarship is $20 off monthly tuition, for one year. To qualify, the student must:

  1. Register for 45 minute or one hour weekly lessons
  2. Score a minimum of 30 Commendations in the National Piano Guild Audition (other achievements of similar standard will be considered)
  3. Participate in studio recitals, plus at least 2 other outside events

To apply for Studio Scholarship, please email Yiyi for details.
