National Piano Guild Auditions
This is a nation-wide, non-competitive audition where students play in front of a judge and receive a written evaluation. Those who successfully pass the audition receive a certificate and a pin. This year the auditions are held in the first week of June in Temecula. All audition pieces must be memorized. The registration fees vary depending on level and number of pieces registered. Students can register from 1 – 20 pieces. Click here to read more about the audition and to see student results from last year. I encourage everyone to participate. I will hand out registration forms at the beginning of March.

Quote of the month
“You know technique requires much work. For me, much work, enormous work; years of hard practice on scales, exercises, and etudes. I have practiced since I was five years old. And I work all the time, even now, more than ever.” - Jeanne-Marie Darre – pianist
Yiyi’s thoughts: indeed. The more we learn, the more we realize there is still much to learn and to accomplish. The older we get, the more we have to practice. This is true for beginners as well as concert pianists! Music is a lifetime of learning and discovering.
