We had a fantastic annual recital on June 18. 28 students performed, and everyone received the MTNA Music Achievement Award trophy. Other awards our students earned throughout the year were also presented, including Certificate of Merit, TVMTA Festival, and competition prizes. We also ran a raffle, the studio donated prizes, and the Riverside Young Musicians Club donated $40 (raffle tickets, water and juice) and we raised $165 for LifeNote (charity benefiting Jacobs House).

Student of the Month – Payton Lucas

Payton is 12 years old and will soon be starting 8th grade. She is an honor roll student and on the track team.  Payton enjoys learning and playing piano very much.

When she’s not school, she enjoys swimming, crocheting and playing with her two Sphynx cats. Payton loves all animals and volunteers at the local animal shelter.

Payton has been playing piano for almost two years. She hopes to one day play Moonlight Sonata and teach younger students.

Teacher Comment: Payton is a darling new student. She has made tremendous progress since coming to the studio. Her love of piano is evident in the many pieces she can play beautifully from memory. I am confident that she is ready to participate in many events next year, including Certificate of Merit and other festivals. Well done, Payton, keep up the great work!
