Keyboards

Although not recommended, it is understandable that parents may wish to purchase a keyboard instead of a piano at the beginning stages of piano lessons. It is afterall better to have a keyboard to practice on rather than nothing! If you must purchase a keyboard, I recommend full size, 88-key, touch-sensitive models. Yamaha or Roland are good brands (the one shown below from Amazon.com is a good example). Avoid spending too much money on a keyboard, as eventually it will need to be replaced by an acoustic piano as the student becomes more advanced.
